Messina - Bulawayo -
Victoria Falls

The A8 from Beit Bridge to Victoria Falls is, due to the political turmoil in Zimbabwe and the resulting decrease in tourist numbers, not a much used road any more.

Accommodation along this 700 kilometre long stretch is limited, mainly to Bulawayo, the Hwange National Park and Victoria Falls. Petrol provision can be a problem in Zimbabwe (espcecially unleaded fuel), so fill your tank while still in South Africa.

If you want to go to Namibia, take the Kasane (Botswana) turn-off in Victoria Falls. Visit the Chobe National Park just behind the border.

You cross the border to Namibia in Ngoma Bridge. From there it is only approx. 70 kilometres, before you reach the tarred Caprivi Highway in Katima Mulilo.
